POP Functionality
Post Office Protocol or POP is an early protocol for accessing incoming email and is very simple.
Powerful
All SnapperMail editions have the standard POP functionality:
- download messages
- delete messages off the server
- delete messages off the handheld that are no longer on the server (synchronize)
Designed for Handheld devices
SnapperMail also easily performs the following functionality which is specifically designed to suit the mobile environment and reduce data usage:
- partially download messages (and download the full message if required)
- download only a certain window of the latest messages
- keep messages outside the window on the handheld, but no longer check whether they are deleted
Easy to Configure
It is simple to set up an account. All you need is:
- server name (for example, pop.gmail.com)
- username (provided by your email service provider, for example, 'yourname@gmail.com')
- password
If you don't know whether the server supports Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) or Transport Layer Security (TLS) you can try each option or contact your ISP or email service provider.
